FANN: Friends and Neighbors Network
FANN is a food co-op of sorts, although this isn’t very strongly implied by its name alone. That’s because FANN isn’t just a food program—it’s a place of fellowship, conversation, networking, and community.
The waiting list is open and interested members or volunteers can contact Bates Place Ministry by phone at 241-2283 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
FANN is a membership-based program that meets the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month at First CRC. Each FANN member pays a $5 joining fee at the beginning of their membership, and a $3 membership fee each meeting. These fees do not pay for food—they are used to cover overhead costs such as utilities and storage.
FANN members are responsible for setting up and tearing down tables and chairs, distributing the food, and participating in the general operation of each meeting. This participation could be anything from facilitating a time of “joys and concerns,” to providing input as to what type of food would be beneficial to the group at future meetings.
